Job Summary
You will own the Signals video UI, the primary customer-facing surface of the Signals platform, as we bring it in-house from a third-party vendor. You will be the first of a two-person frontend team, setting the standards and codebase that the second engineer will build on.

You will own the Signals video UI, the primary customer-facing surface of the Signals platform, as we bring it in-house from a third-party vendor. You will be the first of a two-person frontend team, setting the standards and codebase that the second engineer will build on.
Key Responsibilities

Own the Signals video UI codebase and development lifecycle.

Lead knowledge transfer from the current vendor UX designer.

Partner with the video/streaming backend team on end-to-end streaming experience.

Establish frontend standards for testing, accessibility, and performance.

Prepare the team and codebase for the paired frontend hire later in 2027.
Required Qualifications

7+ years in frontend engineering.

Strong experience with real-time video UI (WebRTC clients, media players).

Deep experience with a modern frontend framework (React preferred).

Accessibility and performance-first mindset.

Comfort owning a customer-facing surface end to end.
Nice to Have

Security or surveillance product UI experience.

Design system authoring experience.

Prior work inheriting a codebase from a vendor or design agency.
Compensation and Benefits
Base Salary: $170,000 to $200,000 (DOE)
